NWS may have dialed back the amount of rain next week
I've been hearing rumblings that some think we may have an actual winter from mid January thru February. I'll gladly take that!early Jan is looking colder..lets see if it holds..
Out west looks blah
copper will be fine....remember it's gonna rain here for 2 days this weekhaha o no getting on a plane to copper in 50 something hours.
And I think bad there is still sweet. I was shocked when what I considered powder everywhere was trashed by a local (it was tracked up so he complained). We just don’t get what they do. And it stays sweet for so much longer.copper will be fine....remember it's gonna rain here for 2 days this week

Just got back from checking out Vail and Beaver Creek for the first time after meeting up with friends to ski Wolf Creek. Definitely a low snow season around Colorado. Without the 20-inch storm Dec. 8-10, no way Vail would've been 50%+ open last weekend. A few of the Back Bowls opened after that storm. Groomers were great in the morning, but pretty skied off by mid-afternoon. Very easy to tell which trails were mostly manmade snow. Dodging the intermediates while watching out for speedsters while skiing back to a main base after 3:00 reminded me of slick New England groomers. But overall, the snow conditions were better than what I experienced mid-December during ski safaris several years ago before picking up my daughter in Boston for her school winter break. And I think bad there is still sweet. I was shocked when what I considered powder everywhere was trashed by a local (it was tracked up so he complained). We just don’t get what they do. And it says sweet for so much longer.
