Whats the Skinny on the Fatties?

My Stocklis have metal top sheets that are very prone to icing up which then gathers snow. It adds quite a bit of weight. I wonder if something like a car wax or RainX would work. I often use the liquid glide wax on my XC ski top sheets to stop the buildup but it doesn’t last very long.

Remember the ski saver clear tape that could be applied to keep the top sheets from getting scratched? I’m sure they still make that stuff. My buddy used to airbrush skis and boards and that’s what would be applied over the top so the artwork wouldn’t get wrecked. A custom setup from your daughter would be rad.

I’ve thought about the clear coating wrap/sticker whatever you call it stuff from the 80’s but I don’t ski them enough to care very much. In fact I haven’t skied them at all since I got the Bentchetler 100’s. I’ll probably only ski the Kendos again when groomers are the only sensible option.

The Iggys are for the wall. I was thinking a cool south west inspired acrylic painting would be cool.

I have gone to an 87 underfoot, full camber ski for daily driving…….skiing at the mental health club. I like the poppiness from arc to arc.

When I notice any slight performance dip off piste that comes, I try to remember that I am old enough to have flailed around in powder and glades on:

201cm straight slalom skis

A snowboard, using Sorels with ski boot liners as boots

Skinny noodle teles with floppy front throw cables and leather boots

Not really about "wide" skis but still an interesting direct comparison of 1980s straight skis and current design narrow skis. The guy went to Windham. He was using skis that he bought.

That dude is annoying. What important data is attained by skiing with different skis on each foot? Comparing old to new, wide to skinny etc can be interesting but this is silly and he seems to want us to take it seriously.

It’s why folks call em a pair of skis.

Plus, he doesnt ski that well. He thinks side slipping those Heads is carving.

The K2s are nearly downhill skis, and the Heads are basically modern consumer slalom skis. Fail.

The different skis on each foot is dumb.

Nice production values, though. Child of the silly influencer era. Gaper TV.
