Slow start to the last day, at Snowbird. Wake up, little work, check out…let the mountain soften up a bit. No Mineral Basin today, no hurry.

Always neat to ride the Tram, even better with no line.

The Gad 2 Boundary was open so figured I’d head out that way. Scenery is amazing.

Got in my good booter for the trip.

Went for a bit of a walkabout along the ridge at the top of the bootpack, to check out Baldy Bowl.

It’s a closed area so no skiing that, but it was neat to see. Walked back out along the ridge, donned my skis, and caught some powder turns on the way out to keep the streak.

Just a few groomers and trees after that to close out the trip. Off to the airport!

Great pictures, and I love the sunshine. When Mrs. Cooper and I were there, I thought she would like the tram. Instead, she said, "it's like riding public transit."

Riding up in a full tram . . . yeah, like a subway ride. Especially for someone on the short side.

On the other hand, riding down in an empty tram is a great way to see the views. Learned that when I was showing around my friend who was an intermediate. Took her up to meet with everyone for lunch at the top. Then rode down with her and her daughter. Her kids were tweens quite capable of skiing the blue groomers at speed.

Yeah, in a half dozen or so days at Snowbird I think I’ve only ridden the Tram twice. It’s objectively cool to do now and again, if you don’t have to wait long, but definitely prefer the lifts.
