You guys catch any of this collegiate Folds of Honor on golf channel today( on tomm too) ? It’s from Grand Haven Mi 45 minutes down the road from me.
Nicklaus totally redid the course into a dune beast, all profits goes to scholarships for lost military vets kids.

Saw bits of it. Is the ground really that sandy there?
We have a few natural sandy areas around here depending on where the glaciers' melting dumped it and there’s dunes on the east end of The Big O shoreline.

There’s a Folds of Honor tournament every year at Tusky this time of year. It’s popular and for a worthy cause.

Oh yea it’s Sandy as can be, only a few hundy yds from Lk mi.
I played the original GR Haven golf course several times starting in ‘93 a few yrs after moving from Jerz.
It was super tight, all tree lined. Remember using just irons to keep it straight with an 84 result.(30 yrs ago)
Hauled thousands of trees out there.
Was fortunate to play Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor a couple yrs back also a Nicklaus beast.( held the Kitchenaide senior pga several times)
Played the Bear in Traverse City also a Nicklaus track.
Arcadia is the best though, mostly natural dunes whereas Whistling straights has a lot more dozer enhancement.

First 2 pics of wife at Nicklaus’ Harbor Shores, third Arcadia

I’ve only played a couple or so of Big Jack’s courses. He surely likes sand traps and undulating big greens.
Played Park Meadows before it had a clubhouse (but they had cart girls) in Park City.
One other on a trip to Myrtle Beach. There’s a relatively new one along the Seneca River, Timber Banks, near Bville (Baldwinsville). Some friends were members there for awhile but I’ve yet to play it.

Unfortunately did not see it looks pretty challenging . .

Cool experience at Folds of Honor yesterday. No ropes, go where you want, no fan crossings, no entrance fees, just a great time. Wife loved it

Played Langbrook Friday beautiful day again.Had a 39, Bird and thrill of the day just being there sunk a 43 footer and a 29 footer so putting was better.

Fairways here still rough so bump n run approaches necessary....messed up some wedge approaches b4 I figured better to bump

Sinking long putts makes all putters happy.

Natural ball flight for me is low. I like when it’s kinda bouncy and ya get some roooollll.
Our course plays drastically different due to degrees of hydration.
The sand traps do too.

Been walking 18 since it cooled off. Ski season comes in a bit.
