The New Yawka in Arizona Thread

I still can't believe that's Arizona (y)

I'm normally not a fan of GoPro crap cause it seems to always make me want to puke, but yours didn't. Maybe because it was mixed in with action shots as well. Regardless, thanks for sharing that. I feel like skiing now.

As usual, RA, well done! But personally, I'm more of a fan of still photography than video (so for selfish reasons please don't stop posting those too), for some of the reasons Camp mentioned plus some others. But, your POV is definitely smoother than most...undoubtedly due to the skiing ability of the videographer. Bravo, RA.

Were you using a chest mount for the POV?

Thanks everyone! It's a chest cam, I find it's the easiest to use. It's the only way I can capture skiing here for the most part, we don't get a lot of snow regularly so when we do people aren't going to stand around and try to get video shots, it's go time!

I have been to Flagstaff a couple of times..
I would say it's more like So Cal.. Some years the mountains outside of LA are under mountains of snow. Some years nada..
But if there is no snow.SO much fun can be had doing other outside activities..
It is pretty SoCal-ish without the ocean/surfing of course. I think our winters are a little more dependable than say Mount Baldy but not by a whole lot. We do know how to make the most of whatever is available and we are usually happy with that.

Just watched again with the sound. Not a POV fan. Love the more still shots plus your turns are big and sweeping which makes the POV less POVish.

Been seeing these clips bit by bit on FB, sweet to see it come together.

AZ is a fantasy land. I embiggened the vid.

Rad! Thanks Harv. AZ is a very cool place and it's one of my goals to try and capture it's beauty, especially the back country skiing.

I hear everyone on the pov and if I could I would do things differently but it's a way to document our skiing without throwing a wrench into the gears of the regular program. I try to get the hand held out as much as I can but I have to be quick, my partners aren't into waiting around very much and either am I. You never know around here when the next good day will be so you have to get it while you can. I'll try to get more hand held for Part 2, if there is a Part 2!

Hey thanks man!

This is an oldie of me in my Jackson days if anyone cares to watch. Skip to 1:30 if you don't want to watch the whole thing, it gets better at that point.

Holy crap..Is that you hucking those cliffs ?

this was pre drone days..who paid for the copter shots ..

Don't skip to 1:30 or you'll miss the blood. Did you loose any teeth with that face to knee shot or just get bloodied up

Seriously, good stuff RA ?

I'm with Jason too. How the hell did you get all that footage??
