The original Lightfoot version is bar none the best but there are some great covers out there. Unfortunately the Shuffle Demons brilliant jazz fusion version is hidden behind paywalls (only $1 though) but the Headstones' version is pretty awesome:

Being they're local, this was the first metal band I ever heard play. It was 1980 in one of our local parks. I've been a fan ever since, and they definitely made an impact on my choice of music.
