THE GNAR!

Well, that settles it. This trail is the gnarliest ski trail in the eastern United States, maybe the world.

Lol
I love articles like that. Goat def is gnarly, heck, any of the front 4 are. But it's snot my kind of gnarti. It's def a narrow steep bump run. What makes it gnarly is if you don't have the legs for that trail. I used to, but not anymore. I'd be bailing.

Lift line at Smuggs is the most fun run in the east IMO or that was my opinion when I left.

That lift and the single at MRG we’re my favorite terrain pods. I can’t think of anything else that compares for natural snow free skiing terrain out there.

I had conversation on this very topic on a lift ride at Stowe with some long time northern Vermonters. They were adamant that Madonna lift line at Smuggs was the winner, over goat, paradise(Mrg), and rumble.

personally, I think it depends on the day you are skiing.

Have you ridden the M1? You don't even have to ski it to know. IMO those folks you were talking with are spot on.

Anyone who answers that survey should be vetted to ensure they've skied each and every run vying for that title. I doubt many have skied Tuckerman's. As some know, it's pretty gnarly when you're setting your skis in the hill about chest level to put them on.
