The Garage Thread: Tractors and UTVs

Have probably 10 pair laying around and they all suck 😂
It's true!
I went to harbor freight and bought their top tier pliers, you know, they claim they're as good as snap on. I had 12 bearings to change. On my second one the Fn tip bent. Third one in snapped off.
Complete junk.
I'll be returning them on Monday
Guys at work swear by snap on ones. I'm starting to think they're right.

Take an expendable pair of needle nose pliers and grind nice points on the end.
This most likely would work. However, my gut tells me that by the time you get them thin enough to work, they would break too.
The steel in the snap rings is so much harder than the pliers. The need to make the tips out of the same material.
Right?

I’ve crafted a pair out of necessity. Don’t grind too quickly or you will remove the temper from the pliers. Delicate work for sure.
