The Double Chair Podcast is Live

Question for the forum: should we keep doing episodes weekly or go on hiatus and come back for season 2 in October? What kind of skiing content would yo7 want to hear in the summertime?

If I were doing a ski podcast I think I'd take the summer off and plan for the next season. I think it would be hard to keep cranking it out but this is just my personal opinion, I bet it's a lot easier for some folks. If it were serious though and you had sponsors and an actual paycheck from it I guess you'd probably have to keep em coming. I'd have to get paid to do that. My free time is of high value these days.

That’s kind of my thinking. We’re definitely not “serious” but I guess I do want to build an audience. There is no money involved as of now- certainly no sponsors.

Whatabout episode 2 of Mr Rip? I believe y’all agreed to it towards the end of his first episode.

Similar to snoloco’s 2 episodes.
After listening to the end it sounds like y’all be doing a part 3.
If y’all wanna wait till the snow flies again that’s cool too.

I’ll treat ya to a cold one 🍺if I ski ya around.

IMHO, if your goal is building an audience, you need to keep podcasting over the summer. Perhaps a new episode every two weeks instead of once a week.

With some exceptions, I think you've mainly talked with NYSB fellow travelers. How can you expand your reach. What about the founders of the Flower Skate jam? That was a benefit for a skate park correct? What about the folks at Cochran's Ski Area in Richmond VT? They fit the independent ski area vibe, and there have been a few Cochrans at the Olympics.

Happy to discuss this over the phone, if you'd like.

Go on hiatus May-July for sure. Start up again in late August or mid-September, depending on what else is going on in your lives at that point. Or when the first cool spell happens in upstate NY. ;)
