The chair is bare but there is still snow on the ground and ice on the lakes up here. What a great winter in the east! So many ski hills close when they have lots of snow but no skier traffic, and our local bump is no exception. The WWHSTA team organized the 2025 Corn Harvest at Hidden Valley Highlands to take place two weeks ago, but the event got rescheduled twice due to a rescheduled ski hill event and then an ice storm. We finally got together on Saturday and it could not have been a better day. Lots of snow, fantastic weather, excellent spring conditions and 21 enthusiastic snow-sliders willing to earn some turns. Not to mention three volunteer ski patrollers there to make make it legit with area management (and benefit from a decent donation to their cause). Unlike last year, all WWHSTA events ran with great snow, a great boost to the organization.

We had the whole "member's deck" and access to the inside bathrooms. Red-shirted ski patrollers in the background. (this hill is semi-private, so there are a few members-only zones. Not today! TD photo.
