Summer Weather 2025

There is a very visible ground level haze here in NNJ. It has been like this all day. We do not smell smoke. We are in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" range for the US Air Quality index - 116-129.
Here is the site:

Along the St Larry for darn near a month we've had very little rain , everything is parched . We have had too long a stretch of very high eighties and low nineties with high 60s to hi 70's DEW Points. Yuk

But right on the River there's always a good breeze . But lawns, parks and golf courses are parched even if they are near the River . We need a good slooow all day soaker or two

It seems like this last month our particular locale has always been " in the dry Seam. About a 5-7 mile gap between regional northeasterly or southeasterly storm systems

.... Very unusual summer

And now F.A. is calling for a dry and cooler than normal Fall

Drove up to the Poconos for a short trip for no particular reason. Thought it would be cooler than central NC. No such luck. Mid-90s yesterday and today. Heading home tomorrow.

Per usual it was 28º at Big SNOW on Sunday. ;)

Just when the tomatoes are beginning to ripen up the sunny blue cloudless skies turned to a hazy dull smokey grey.

Oswego River level is at it’s lowest “recorded" level.
Tis gettin drier than a popcorn fart.

Another damn heat wave coming in this weekend. Ugh damn 😩

Tired of this friggin weather, although this mornings walk along The Fort trails on a point in The St Larry was graced with amazing breezes.

We walked yesterday along a different section of The River on the East end of town that was nice n breezy too

Probably go down tonite to observe the Canadian sunset .

One of the nice features here is we have beaucoup beautiful walking trails in the Green Belt parks spanning both the St Larry and the confluence of The Oswegatchie River and The St Lawrence a 5 minute walk from our place . there are walks on both sides of the Ozzie with footbridges about a 5 mile trail system

The Fort Peninsula trails are a series of interconnected loops and a footbridge over to a small island about a mile and a quarter out in the River on the system

The trails on the East end of town are on a bluff very near the International Bridge to Canada about 3 miles of loops.

So several nice trails for walking , running and biking for peeps . The trails are flat ,some pea gravel some macadam ....no vehicles
