Ski Resorts Panicking About Cold Weather

My friend got a dozen runs in at Song this morning in the new pow.. -2F, some sun. Snow conditions were really good.
He said his hands were toasty in his Hotfingers mittens.
He said the only time his toes were chilled was when the lift stopped once for ~10 minutes.
Nice
Greek is open with 6 lifts and 51 trails open.
Big slope style event as well. Was -10 here this morning with no wind. Totally tolerable compared to what they had in the mountains.

That said, I need to be careful in below zero weather. I've had frostbite on my ears so many times now that it doesn't take much exposure for me to get it again. At Smuggs, my left earlobe was so bad that the skin turned black and fell off. Hurt like a fkr.

Skied Greek from 8:30-11:00, some of the best groomers of the season. Was heading over to chair 5 when I realized my toes were pretty cold, took a coffee break at the Taverna. Other than that, I was pretty comfortable, skied with my balaclava over my nose, almost never do that. Made my first run without anything on my helmet, head got pretty cold, hoodie hood and shell hood over helmet the rest of the day, did the trick. Considered breaking out the Mad Bomber hat this morning, but didn't, its way warmer than any helmet. Had a little stuggle debooting when done, suckers were stiff.

That is terrible.

Hey, our trillion dollar military shot down that dang China balloon. Panic over there.

NY Masters race at Holimont today-was about 1 F when I arrived at 8:00 or so. Not bad in the morning, but got chillier as the wind picked up for the second run. I should have skied after we finished, but I was chilled. One benefit of Holimont-their HSQ takes about 2 1/2 minutes to get to the top so chair exposure is limited.
