Ski club canceled due to snow ???

Local news puts the fear of God in everyone. I mean, to Deez point, it's Jan in the northeast. It's gonna B shittE out
And people crave it!

I used to have this theory that people crave the fear that the news gives them because our lives have become so safe, too damn safe. The majority of people don't get put into the flight or flight response enough to burn through the energy or hormones (or whatever the chemicals are) that are produced for that response. Adrenalin sports junkies often sleep pretty good but I think that they can take things too far throwing that balance off.

I once read that children and even adults often have nightmares as practice for that fight or flight response or if those chemicals haven't been used enough.

it took an a lot more snow than we got this week to close upstate schools when I was a kid too.
I've mentioned before how my school district west of Syracuse was always the one that refused to call a snow day, even when we got a two-foot dump, because our superintendent grew up in Maine with the "when I was a kid in the 1940s, we walked barefoot through the snow uphill to go to school every morning" rationale. We'd be listening to WSYR 570 radio at 6 am for the closure announcements and virtually every district within 60 miles would be named except ours.

My kid's school system just canceled all afternoon activities because forecasting 2 inches of snow.
Ski club is canceled because of snow ! 🤪
Any little bit of snow is like a breaking urgent headline - run to grocery store, cancel all activities, top header of online newspaper.......
We live in the North East - it snows - no biggie.
Looking back at it with the timing of the wind/rain it was a smart move.
Skools around here are delayed and/or cancelled today. Song/Lab closed early yesterday with no ski school and now aren’t gonna open today.
We didn’t get snow yet but got another storm coming for this weekend.

West Genny FTW. They still play good hockey.🏒

The ski club is 6 Tuesdays at West mountain. They don't have a long season. I am sure it will be canceled again.
