Ski Bowl 3.0 at Gore

The shuttle was operated by volunteers and the cost of maintenance and gas was a killer. Also it didn't help that the crazy traffic on the Gore access prevented any means of a timely schedule. Gore announced a few years ago of a "shuttle lane" on the access road, but that idea was conveniently abandoned. 🤷‍♂️ 🤫

Maybe folks in the hamlet can sell parking spots and make bank to pay their sewer bill.

In golf folks make money from parking at their place when a big tournament brings the hordes to town.

There’s also the tracks to boot. Snow Train Shuttle II FTW.

LOL the snow train was a dead on arrival bust!
Let's see why:
Board train in Saratoga at 7am, which means getting your family up at 5am to get to train station on time.
Ride train, which was very slow, and arrive in North Creek at 9:15. Get off train, grab your gear, (and your families' gear), and load onto waiting school bus and arrive at base of Gore at 9:30 (if the train did not have a breakdown, which it did multiple times).
Ski until 2-2:15 so that you can catch the school bus back to train station to load by 3pm. Arrive back in Saratoga at 5pm (again, that's if the train didn't break down).
The drive from Saratoga to Gore is apporximately one hour, so you either have to be a fucking moron, or a lover of trains so bad that you don't care that you just wasted your whole day 🤷‍♂️:ROFLMAO:

#no more trains!!!

If Gore had a Gondola from the town to the base, a snow train from Atlantic Terminal and/or Penn Station would be incredible for city folks

Maybe with a bunch of sleeper cars that leaves on Friday afternoon- of course you’ll have to build a big hotel within an easy walk of both the train and the gondola also. I wonder how much that weekend would end up costing a family of four?

very slow
This doomed it. The tracks weren't is great shape I guess.

There was an old Amtrak ad with a song....

"There's something about a train..."

The something is it is fast, or supposed to be.

Looks like the Phoenix has Sold and/or rebranded:

There's also the Alpine and the B&B.

That URL is a mouthful!

Be so cool if it worked. The hotel I mean. If it somehow thrives.

For a few years I used to leave my 06 Escape at the Albany station, take the train from Penn, then drive the rest. Considering how long and stressful it was getting out of Brooklyn it was about the same amount of time if not shorter. Of course it was a coin flip if that shitbox would start back up.

But yeah if the rail speed is super slow between Saratoga and NC then probably not be a viable option.
