Retired People: What Surprised You?

Congratulations, Harvey!

As someone looking to start a phased retirement in about 3 years, this thread has been a super good read. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!

Harvey, now that it's official I hope you will share your own thoughts on what you find most surprising over the next few months and beyond.

Convo with my mom last week:

Mom: "So after next week you're free as a bird right?"

Harv: "Well er um..."

Mom: "It's a yes or no question!"

🤪

In other news, somehow my company got their hands on this Plattekill shot.

Thought I'd be gone by now!

Staff is all gone, we let them go early for NY Eve.

Just us chickens, trying to cancel my corporate Amex card.

I am ready!
I still think this forum is full of old guys complaining about 1st world problems & reminiscing about boring classic rock and “the good old days” (and this thread fully confirms that), but one supreme advantage of reaching the later years is being retired.

Congratulations, Harv.
