Ok mission success, but I don’t want to cook them tonight. Either tomorrow evening or Saturday morning with eggs a la JamesD. Will they hang unwashed , refrigerated in the baggy until then ?

I just opened the baggie and took a whiff, pretty pungent! Wifeys away this weekend so no stank worries, although we cook with a lot of garlic in our diet so we always reek

Cohen has recommended picking just one leaf per plant and leaving the bulb in the ground so it can continue to reproduce for future years.

I stopped pulling bulbs years ago but one leaf per plant? Gimme a break.

They'll stink up your fridge. I just keep them in a bag in a cold place, e.g. the garage, or a shaded spot (under my grill).

Article I found is from 10 years ago. Depending on the location, could be that ramps were being over harvested far more than in some other regions.

Wow very tasty, thanks all for turning me on to these and the tips and cooking suggestions.

I didn’t find them overwhelming or stinky at all, Maybe my patch is mild or I’m just desensitized!

Ok after going outside for a bit and coming back in, the kitchen does smell a little funky

Scouting mission today, there seems to be a bumper crop this year, with leeks popping up in areas not seen before.

Blue Toes is going foraging tomorrow, we shall see what comes back.
