Sorry a little late with this. The front page needed me.
I almost didn't ski Sunday. It was a no brainer to skip Saturday and catch up on some work. Saturday night it was in the upper 20s in NJ so I figured I should rethink Sunday. Turned out to be a great call.
Meeker Hollow
Plattekill Lodge
Plattekill hosted racing over the weekend, but each skier only got one run on Saturday, so Sunday's agenda was packed. Dean and I both showed up at 8am like we are supposed to, and we weren't first. We weren't even 100th.
The race went pretty darn smoothly, considering how many people were on the hill.
I have NEVER seen that many day tickets at Plattekill ever.
Dean on Plunge
Dean and I did 4 laps on Plunge, braving the guns. After the first few runs it warmed up and the bottom two guns were wet. You could avoid skiing through it, by cutting over to Freefall at the bottom, but on the chair there was no where to hide.
Block
Block was in fine shape.
Face View
But once the sun came out Face as the place to be in my own opinion.
I skied hard with Dean until 12:30 when he split to stage the VT trip he planned for this week
Ro comin in hot!
@Roman text'd he was busy with ski school until 2. I knew if I skied until then, I'd be worthless and he'd be fresh.
I defied common sense with a big sandwich and beer. Expecting, nah HOPING I could ski at 2pm.
Plattekill
In the end we skied until Face went into the shade, around 3:15.
I took my sweet time in the bar after, with Roman, and the Plattekill ops team.
Home Mountain tweet
Drove home tired and very happy.
