Powder mountain ceased being a normal for profit business when the group of SF techies bought it and tried to mold it into their agenda, and Hastings just said, F it, I'm taking it half private for me and my buddies. May or not succeed, who knows, the rich have their whims, until the accountants say, no more.Powder Mountain continues to radicalize. First they privatize a third of the mountain, and now they won't even sell tickets to normal people on February weekends. Note that they'll still give you a tour if you're looking to buy real estate there. It's a terrible business decision. Weekends in February have the highest demand, and on the highest demand days, you have to sell your highest yield product.
