I got up to Page this week to explore this rowdy slickrock zone with my buddy Simon. The last pic is sideways for some reason, it’s a really fun wall ride feature. The Bird House has super dope fried chicken.

they are currently keeping most of their old employees working with dismantling the plant but soon enough that area will be out of around 3k jobs.

Another interesting tid bit is that this slick rock zone is on what locals call Giraffe Mesa. Apparently after Michael Jackson passed a man had acquired his two giraffes and kept them up on this mesa. Unfortunately they didn’t last long and according to some locals their remains are buried somewhere up top.

I also forgot to mention, Horseshoe bend is worth a visit. I had never been and I’ve always thought of it as a tourist trap but there’s a damn good reason people are attracted to it. It really is breathtaking.

Yep, like riding on fine-grain sandpaper. That said; I still wouldn't try some of the lines in those pix.
