Lots of skiing history in the Shawangunks. One downhill area that was used by the Mohonk School was human powered and overlooks the gardens.

Ski Minne was in that area as well.
The runs of Ski Minne are still visible. Now known as Peterskill, the area is popular for bouldering climbs and hidden swim spots along the stream. There were also lifts at the Nevele in Ellenville, Mount Cathalia in Cragsmoor, The Granit Hotel in Kerhonkson, Bonticou at Mohonk and a big ski jump at Williams Lake in Rosendale.

Those are sweet pics. What's the vertical of these runs? I've spent time at Silvermine in Harriman Park but its less than 400 feet

Unfortunately I'm the one at risk, not the poster.

I found the archived photos on Mohonk’s website. The bookstore in the hotel has some great information on local history. There are some great old photos hanging in the halls on the way to the dining room as well.
There is some cool info on this site
and a cool piece that @Peter Minde did for the blog

All of the runs are short and sweet. Sweet that is if the conditions allow, which is rare. The most vert you could probably get would be 1,200ft of XC from Smiley tower on Skytop down passed Duck Pond to Butterville Rd. with a few turns in between.

Scotty (in better times) and me hiked Peterskill many times. Never been there when skiable.
