Over the Mackinac Bridge to the UP and up to Munising. Pictured Rocks is rad, kayak tour is the way to go!

About time we get some love.
In my opinion the Pictured Rocks is the best natural feature in the state. Blows away the Apostle islands.
BUT if you venture over the Soo bridge I find the Canadian Shield along Lk Superior even more scenic up towards Wawa, Ont.
Searchmont a fine ski area.
Was fortunate to ski Sugarloaf on Super Bowl Sunday 1991 when I just moved here from Jerz.Nice to see it become a free publicly owned piece. Gonna have to hike it. Boy they spent a ton ripping out all those Hall lifts

The Superior geological, industrial and maritime history is so cool, we just scratched the surface.
Would love to make it back one of these day to explore west of Marquette and down through Wisconsiin

When I was at Ole Miss about 3 dozen Finnish exchange students once came for the spring semester & all but 2 or 3 were co-eds. Interesting nice folks. Fun times.

Door county peninsula( Wis.) is pretty cool with fish boils and cheeseheads. Granite peak/ Rib mountain (700 vert) sticks out of the corn fields like it doesn’t belong. Never been to Milwaukee . Would love to play Whistling Straights.
Quick story, I was supposed to fly with a buddy up to Hancock Mi to ski Bohemia but couldn’t because of bad flying ( Cessna) weather. We had put a sizable non refundable deposit down and Lonnie Glieberman the owner of Bohemia said I could use it for lodging in the cabins on LacLabelle so I took him up on it.
So we were driving back to the cabin after going up to Ft Wilkins in Copper Harbor and a car came up on my ass and parked right next to me at the cabin. Lo and behold it was Lonnie who had a few up at the hot tub at the base of the mountain. Cool dude.
Never got to ski Bohemia but enjoyed a fantastic UP, Minn, and Wis trip a few years back
