Every year @Stu and I say we are going to ski together, but we haven't done so since January of 2020.
Monday he texted me "It's snowing up there, who's open? I want to ski on Thursday."
I looked around the neighborhood, Gore, Oak, McCauley, Snow Ridge, Woods Valley, Royal. Only Gore was open, or so I thought. Then @Robert alerted me, Big Mac was opening. I was in. If Stu was going to drive up from Brooklyn, I'd be there.
I did my usual, shooting for an hour before first chair, which was at 9. Stuart was targeting 10.
Man it's cold.
I got my lift ticket ($35!) and headed down to the lift. Just after 9am the call came to send up the public.
That was me. I got three laps in before anyone joined me.
Helmers
Mac had had most of a foot overnight, and there was a lot of tempting terrain around.
God's Land
At 10 Stuart rode up the triple, I waited for him at the top of SkyRide.
Patrol worked hard to pad the towers and rope off Helmers to open SkyRide for the first time this season.
