Leaving Dog in Car while Skiing

When I was a kid we would leave our dachshund in the vw van all day while we skied, curled up in blankets.

My parents thought 6 was a little too young to ski, so left me in the parking lot sledding on the drifts at the end of the lot while they and my brothers skied. I was very happy wandering around with my sled for a few hours - today they would be arrested. Ah, the 70s.

That must have been in the DEC days. Belleayre has been dog friendly since ORDA took over. The new GM has it in his contract that he can bring his dogs to work and he does.

We bring our pups spring skiing sometimes, particularly when a tailgate party is planned. They stay hanging out with blankets and we see them at least every 2 hours. They would much rather be with us than home all day.

I hear woodchucks can be pretty nasty because they have very sharp teeth and claws. My vet friend says dogs have showed up at the vets office needing a lot of stitches after wrangling with a woodchuck. Nonetheless, Moxie has made short work of a few of them as well!

He's a pitbull mix. He's definitely had a few battle scars from his interactions, but has come out on top so far...lol

Only the Matterhorn in $towe have I been booted for fighting. It was a long time ago....lol
