It's Time to Ski New York

For several years my goal has been to ski every ski area in NY. After Jan 1, this will be a more realistic goal.

By my count right now there are 24 lift served areas to be skied (in green).

Master Map Updated

I don't like the idea of skiing multiple areas in one day, when skiing them for the first time. I want a chance to take it in. But the distances, especially to Western NY, almost demand joining areas together in one trip. Peekn Peak is practically in Ohio.

I'm trying to work out a few trips, with some kind of place to stay to give each area a day.

This is a spot to keep my planning in one place. It's work in progress.

If you have input about the best direction to drive any of these loops or potential places or where to find the tree skiing, I'm listening. Also I'd listen to ideas for places to stay.

Hit me up when you check out Catamount, Thunder Ridge, West Point and Holiday. Hopefully I can join you.

LOVE IT. Congrats Harv on planning and executing this.

Starting next week I have some significant/serious flexibility for weekday skiing this season - would love to ski together with nyskiblog folks.

Best,
D

planning and executing
LOL. I've done a little planning, not much executing yet.

I did check off Dry Hill this season.

1. Mt Pisgah is my local alpine bump. Ask @Ripitz about it.

2. My ass-of-iron road trip: returning to NJ from Forestville Quebec to NJ after a 100 km race. 725miles, 15 hours. Uff.
