ICE v Electric: Cost and Emissions

It can't be done without engine mods. Basically they dump so much fuel into the engine that it can't completely burn creating a massive cloud of black smoke.
The modification, does it have any other features other than flooding the engine?

Just a PSA on the bolt - I still like my Rivian more (can ski and drive on beach in same day) but I am digging the bolt.

Unlike the Rivian, the bolt is making me drive more conservative because it gives you a high-low on the guesometer. Full charge (don't do that ev owners - the dealer did) it was saying like 300 range when EPA is 259.

Also, my insurance went up a bit because the Subie had very little value left. That led me to taking a defensive driving course. For better or worse, sitting through the click throughs does make you (me) a more defensive driver. I finished the course early this week and haven't been opening it up on the Rivian. I guess the insurance companies won this round.

I’ve been coaled while on my bike more than a few times. Or the imports will make a POP as they pass to scare the shit out of you. It’s incredibly dangerous. I don’t carry but sometimes I wish I did. It’s not something to shoot someone over but if they’re willing to disrespect you like that and put you in harm’s way, you have to wonder what else they have in mind.

One of the last times I was biking in town (year or two ago?) I put my right turn signal out (bent left arm). A jeep then came up, cut into me. I reacted quickly enough to slam on the brakes and move, but wtf is up with that? Randomly, the jeep turned onto the entry into a small island/peninsula off long island. I flagged a cop, a car stopped and went over to the cop and said she saw the whole thing, and cop said something like, because I didn't see it, I can't do anything. I then pointed out that he could investigate a felony like reckless driving on eye witness information. He just frowned. I said, ok, clearly you won't deal with this, I won't waste my time, and I biked home.
I didn't realize it, not a consious decision, but since then, I have pretty much been biking on only designated / separated bike lines.
Pretty sad some cars won't share the road or have basic decency. Let alone making the choice not to try to run you down . . . .

Rant over.

There are some pretty dicky bikers to. Your such a boy scout😉

Let's see.... a school bus passed within a foot of me. Someone once ran me off the road because he wanted to ask for directions. I've had people throw sh** at me, try to spit on me, and play chicken. AND I was hit by someone who ran a stop sign. There's more, too.
