Am I missing something? By general public, do they mean that non-license holders can buy tickets if the license holders don’t max them out on a particular day?
I believe you are right.
From a pure skiing perspective, with no value assigned to keeping Hickory alive, the public pass is lowest risk. Again, from a pure skiing perspective, the license only make sense if you want to improve your odds for getting a ticket on a powder day.
How much it helps depends on snowfall and skier demand. It is a risk if you perceive it to be so.
I have no idea if this will work, but if it does I want to be there. I really just want to ski the place again.
