I spoke with Sue last night at the Tannery Pond Ski Film Event. She said there is plenty of snow (now), they are waiting on a lift inspection.

T- bar only this weekend.
From the webpage "The good news is that we are opening tomorrow and our snow coverage is still 8-12”. Adult day ticket will be $45.
The bad news is that neither Poma will run this weekend. We are going to continue to work on the electrical challenges with safety gates that are preventing lift certifications. "

Stopped by Hickory on my way back from Whiteface on Sunday. First visit. I had a fun time taking laps off the T-bar and then I skinned up to the top of Ridge Run (and skied down the same way). Conditions were firm but skiable (and the snow started to soften up when I got off the hill at ~1 pm). Coverage was better than expected and a positive of the firm conditions was that rocks were not a concern for me. I only had time to stay a few hours but Hickory being right off the Northway (and now on the Indy Pass) made the decision to stop an easy one. I was happy to finally check the place out. I will do my best to go back and support them whenever possible.

I just read the below statement in a Storm King Journal e-mail I received today. Say it ain't so. Anyone have any more info.....
"breaking news: Hickory will not operate this coming winter". The link said the following: "Confirmed by sources at Hickory NY and Indy Pass: the ski area "is under new management" and "has no plans in place to open for the ski season." So the ski area is essentially off Indy Pass. Sad that this little bump struggled with insurance/inspections while the state pumped hundreds of millions into its owned ski areas."
