Tell us more about RJ
LoL
I really can't as I've never met him. I know what his online presence is like from nyskiblog part I. He was very negative to the new owners, why I'm not sure. Granted I'm a bit biased as I'm a big homer as well as have friends in common with John. I do know he was at the auction when GP was sold. He didn't end up with it so maybe he's pissed? Or just jealous?? Not sure.
He's also made it very clear that he feels ownership should invest millions all at once in all new lifts. Sure, who wouldn't want that, but, it's easy to say that when you aren't the one paying the bills.
Anyway, he would know the answers to the questions stated above. He knows everything

You bet.
The guy does have a good sense of humor. He could laugh at himself which is important. If people can't laugh at themselves I find them boring.
I agree. The thing that struck me as odd was that he claimed he looked into buying the place on behalf of some big money investors or some shit, decided it was a bad business model that couldn't work and then kept insisting that the new owners should just pour in crazy money for new everything all at once. Seemed contradictory to me.

RJ- if you're out there- forgive me if I am mischaracterizing your position. It was awhile ago. Come back and set me straight if I misremembered.

I am curious about this: "a brand-new family-style ski trail is being designed between Chair 4 and Chair 5 for the 2022-23 ski season. The trail, nearly 2,000 feet long with 300 feet of vertical..."

Sounds like great beginner terrain, but I gotta wonder how is it going to be lift served? Is this running between 4 and the top of 5? Just seems weird...

As far as RJ (he has multiple other identities on ski forums and facebook) and his negative position on the new owners,,, The way I remember his complaint was that just before the bankruptcy his dad bought some kind of expensive lifetime membership to a gym/weightroom/exercise/spa type thing at Hope Lake Lodge and the new owners wouldn't honor it but the owners offered some kind of remedy that RJ thought was far far far too little.

Interesting.
I'm sure if he would've bought it he would've honored all those memberships AND dumped $20 million into an entirely new lift system.
