Grand Canyon Road Trip '21

Good stuff Gorgonzola. Great pics and choices, especially eating at the hotel in Winslow.

Next time you come through hit me up for a secret hike up Humphreys or a ride on one of my trail builds.

Homeward Bound 10/12-10/19: Sedona / Santa Fe / Mammoth Cave / Monticello

A’ight, time to wrap this up – man the Holidays sure do make the time fly…

So begins the trek home. A few hours after leaving the GC we got to Sedona in time to get settled and head out to Devil’s Bridge.

Love the subdued palate of the landscape.

Celebrated the last night with the kids with some awesome Mexican in town before an early morning Cathedral Rocks hike before they headed out to catch their flight in Albuquerque. Quite the scramble up…

My only grip about this trip was the pace, I would love to have 2-1/2 months instead of 2-1/2 weeks. I was looking for a window to give ya a shout @raisingarizona for a tour or some beta, but as it was I barely found time to squeeze in a few hours on the bike before sunset. The Mescal Trail (whole new meaning from my misguided youth lol) was awesome and need to get back and explore some more….

Next stop Santa Fe, NM. First stop for great beers and Al Pastor tacos at Santa Fe Brewing. Next morning walked around town a bit before checking out El Rancho de las Golindrinas historical site.

I had expected prime fall foliage on the way home but the deep greens and blues of Virginia were a welcome site on the way to Monticello.

That would be our last stop on the way home. Thanks for tagging along.

As I reflect back, I may add some thoughts and observations about the road, RV’ing, homelessness, masks and guns.

Incredible photos.

Eventually, after commenting is done, l'll move all of these in up to the beginning of the thread.
