Gore Mountain Conditions

They are making snow on the summit right now, so you'll have all those trails soon enough. I have already explained why the snow that was made at the ski bowl earlier could not have been made on the summit, as they are largely separate systems.

The fact is it's unacceptable for such a large portion of terrain on Burnt Ridge and the Ski Bowl to not open until mid January or later, and then not be open 7 days a week. They figured out a way to get these open before Christmas, and still have all lifts open, including the summit, for the holiday period.

  • The Joe Minder Lodge at the Ski Bowl will not be staffed with a ticket-seller today. Please visit the main mountain to purchase lift tickets or purchase online to pick up at the E-Ticket Pick-Up Box in the Joe Minder Lodge.

Most western ski resorts could barely be open for Christmas this current season. It’s a warming world Sno and it’s going to impact all facets of the ski industry, including being able to make snow even when temperatures are good. Get it while you can!

In a warming world ski resorts need to have the capacity to pump it out when they can. They can't rely on weeks of cold to slowly get things open. Given the consistent cold we've had it's disappointing to see barren slopes, especially at places much much smaller than Gore.
