Gore Mountain Conditions

Others have more experience with Gore’s ya gotta go to know’s conditions than me but YMMV depending on where it’s ❄️ measured .
Do ya know where Gore has made their “official” accumulation snow totals? Has the location been consistent during yer studies?

With the many facets on their slopes, totals can vary due to wind on their many bumps.

Does your bump face the same wind direction as any of Gore’s bumps/trails?

Just build something like this. No need for a cam. Just take a shot every morning and every evening. It won't be the same as a cam due to wind, but it would be an easy way to track your snow.

Until last year Gore always measured snow at the main base (1500').

Last year was crazy sometimes they'd use the summit even when it was rain at the base, and add it to the yearly total.

I was told that the report comes from patrol, and sometimes when that report didn't come, they call it zero, even though it snowed.

Based on the above info I’d trust yer totals more than an inconsistent location.
Ya could study a couple locations on yer property to correlate yer totals vs what ya find on their bumps on a fresh snow day and what they "try to" report.

I always used the cabin's porch, protected by the wind, but open to the sky.
That is good but what’s the measuring device? Going outside with a yard stick and stabbing down from above is ok for casual use but if you want accuracy and consistency I think you need to install a legit snow stake. A live cam with a link would be ideal.

This rings true to me

Here's the Snowmaking (Wet Bulb) forecast from OpenSnow for Gore for the next couple weeks.
