The ironic thing is that they seem to work better for beginners than they do for experienced skiers.I like carpet loading lifts but from my observations people no comprende them.

Greeks' carpet never seemed right early on, lots of stoppage on that lift made it seem to take longer than the lift it replaced.Junior worked on Greek’s quad a little bit this past winter. Apparently there’s a space under the carpet that can get clogged up with snow and generate faults and errors. Then they have to either turn off the carpet and throw snow on it or shut down the whole lift long enough to go underneath and dig it out
The air compressors at the Ski Bowl are for the main mountain as well as the ski bowl. The big difference is that the ski bowl gets it's water directly from the Hudson River pump, whereas the main mountain gets it's water from the pump station next to the reservoir, which is why the ski bowl does not get snowmax treated water. The ski bowl will always be the last place to make snow because of the interconnect trails, which need to have snow made on them and obviously burnt ridge and the north side. When the original plan for the ski bowl was floated through orda, gore was told that the main mountain will have priority over the ski bowl, forever.I looked at the Gore website this morning and it no longer has anything about a belt loader on the new lift. I don't think we're gonna see that.
@snoloco I looked around the Ski Bowl last winter. It looks to me like they have compressors and pumps down there. Does that mean that SB snowmaking is completely separate from the main mountain? Could they operate both systems at full volume at the same time? If so, why does Ski Bowl always open late?

Apparently not forever. Last year they opened Ski Bowl before they even started on Uncas, Topridge, Steilhang, Lies, Rumor or Sagamore. When the original plan for the ski bowl was floated through orda, gore was told that the main mountain will have priority over the ski bowl, forever.
That is not true. Only the village lift opens early.Apparently not forever. Last year they opened Ski Bowl before they even started on Uncas, Topridge, Steilhang, Lies, Rumor or Sagamore.
But at least we got a Zippy Thingy.

Nope. Hudson opened before all those trails last year. I remember that because Mark Parabeck wrote a Facebook post about how great the new Hudson chair is, and I responded by asking if it was better than Sagamore, Uncas, etc. All thise trails were closed at the time. My post was deleted and someone revoked my "Gore top fan" status. I was pretty excited about that. That is not true. Only the village lift opens early.
That is incorrect, it did not happen. I was there the first day the hudson chair ran and the other lifts were all open. I don't go by hearsay, I was there, unlike you who just sits at the keyboard and bitchesNope. Hudson opened before all those trails last year.
