Yes, and that is why the Ski Bowl does not get Sno-Max, as that is incorporated in the system at the Pump Station next to the reservoir.

Snomax makes snow more efficiently.
Ski Bowl sits lower in elevation than most of the rest of the bumps.

Showcase and Tahawas, first tracks were divine. New terrain was less fun. Should be sweet tomorrow.

Given how the snowmaking system works, the ski bowl is largely independent of the main mountain. So it makes sense to make snow there when they can, and not take away any capacity from other trails.

Are they independent enough that they can make snow at both areas at the same time? AFAIK they never made snow at the Ski Bowl and at the main mountain the same time. The best thing about Ski Bowl is that there will never be any lift lines there, but it will always drain resources away from the best parts of Gore.

This time of year you need to compare terrain mileage, but on this metric, Gore is considerably underperforming the other ORDA mountains. Gore currently has 3.24 miles of open terrain. Belleayre has 5.42 miles and Whiteface has 5.22 miles.

Gore is almost three times as big as Belleayre. It should easily be able to match or even double the area Belle covers, but it never did last year hasn't this so far this year.

Welp I just found out that speed limits have nothing to do with safety, not sure about NY but PA is an 85 Rule state

Set speed limits at the speed of the 85th percentile and enforce keep right except to pass. IT's safer and faster, Everyone wins.

Yes, it is a natural bacteria. The biggest thing it does is it raises the freezing point of the water which allows better quality snow to be made during marginal temps.

The layout at belle makes it easier to blow new terrain quickly.

I'm not saying they aren't doing a good job at Belle. but at Belle you can blow on one black trail and get one black trail.Open at gore you've got to blow like three traverses to do that.

Is top ridge the easiest black trail to get open or maybe it's forty sixer? I really like going for showcase first personally.

Gore snow making is most improved this year. I know it's been colder, but i'm willing to see what happens

Looks like the cold will be with us for a little while.Longer at least.
