Gore announcement of new quads

ORDA can borrow money independently of NYS, and interest rates are low. It's always a mistake to cut government spending during a recession.

It is money that was already set aside that is supporting employment.

From what I've seen it seems that ORDA is sensitive to both the perception and the reality.

Back in Febryaury, Liftblog was saying High Peaks was scheduled for replacement in 2021. I don't know if that was accurate, but it makes perfect sense if they moved the project up when Vail canceled all it's lift projects. Building this year supports employment and avoids the price increases that will happen when the rest of the industry is going back to building.

The High Peaks chairs had lead paint and were scrapped. The Sunway chairs sold out quick.
Damn - I had talked my wife into letting me try to get a High Peaks chair. I wanted to relive having the safety bar rub against the top of my head in perpetuity!

High Peaks will be essential if gondola capacity is restricted. I wouldn't be comfortable on the gondi with strangers right now.
Even on chairlifts, ski resorts that have opened since April don't want people who aren't from the same "group" to ride together. For a quad chair, that can mean 2 people who know each other, an empty seat, and another person. Or two singles with the two middle spots left empty.

Make sure to hang it from a really big Spring so you can always experience that first 50 yards of the ride, too.

Was there an announcement about selling the Sunway chairs? I don't recall seeing anything about this.....

Sad to see that old chair go but excited about the new lift going to the top. Remember skiing ( skating ) under the old lift when it went to the top?
Does anyone know if they are moving the lift line or will it follow the same path?

My understanding is the same path. Pretty sure that's where the old lift went.

Maybe Cork, or someone who's seen it can verify.
