Going Under the Knife

Best wishes to Blue Toes for a speedy recovery, and also to SBR for all the support you are providing her! Sounds like it could have been a whole lot worse.

I'll be going under the knife myself later this week. I broke an elbow in the woods at Jay 20 years ago and had some hardware put in there. It is now starting to cause mobility issues and some pain (maybe it shifted, who knows), so they are taking it out on Thursday. One accident, two surgeries.
Heal well Riv , wishing I all the best

I think I had the same roommate. :p

I also had to wait because I crashed and burned on US labor day weekend. See if you can find her a good nurse who can do a sponge bath. That made all the difference to me.
She had a sponge bath and hair wash today. Turns out that new roomie is from our area and actually lives on the same road as the ill-fated incident property.

Heal up, you are young!

Big news, the head of neurosurgery said that surgery is not recommended. Still a long road ahead since she has two vertebrae with compression fractures and four broken ribs. Big boost in spirit today. Physio to follow and hopefully hospital release in a few days.

Yes of course. I assumed you at least got a back brace to stabilize her vertebrae but it must be extremely painful. I’m sure it’s daunting to project how the next year is going to be for you guys but you’ll get through it.
.

Yes, it will be an interesting time. She starts physio today at the hospital, the story will become more clear as that progresses.

The doc said she should not have any problem traveling by October, as long as there is someone around to carry luggage.
