Going Down Big

I just realized Marco was never found on Everest. I knew he rode it but I thought he died in Peru. Some guys stay out there. Historical Badass. RIP.
I found this old clip of him on the Mallory, north face of the Aguille du Midi, under the tram, in stellar conditions. He had no rival.

The Aguille du Midi tram was closed so Bird skinned in from Italy to solo ski fly the Frendo Spur with no one around. Unreal.

42 resorts in 44 days? I wanna hang with this guy.

Alex is a nut. He was a cross country guy that got into downhill. I met him when he first started. Bill was fairly new at down hill as well. What they lacked in form they more then made up with determination. Alex was hucking of things about the same time he learned to ski. Always happy and just a good kid to be around. Gondola rides had you in stitches before you got to the top. I watched him jump a small cliff in a tight section, landed back seat and went balls first into a small sapling. I thought his testicles exploded. He moaned for a few minutes and was back at it the rest of the day.

These guys go back to Les Dents du Midi for an ebike-hut-climb-ski-train tour. Nice line. Drone footage really brings these descents into perspective. We didn’t have those distractions back in the day. Love the guide of 50 years. Lots of wisdom right there.

"Crash Detection is on by default, but if you have an iPhone 14 and anticipate falling on the slopes or riding roller coasters, you can turn it off by navigating to Settings > Emergency SOS and toggling Call After Severe Crash to off."

It’s official, Dan Noakes is the man. He solo winter traversed the Frank Church Wilderness of No Return in Idaho on skis. Here is episode 1 of the 5 part series.
