Noticed deer tracks around where they were munching the hemlocks before the warm up.
If it locks up solid after this it’s gonna make it harder for them to paw the ground.
Deer gotta eat.

Yeah, big wind in the Tri Lakes, NYS Mesonet site in LP shows a wind gust of 76 mph at 5 am! Only 30s and 40s for Gabriels and Tupper sites(so far).

This morning: 60 mph winds, 48 degrees, torrential rain took all the snow away. Temperature dropped to ~32, wet heavy snow. WF, the Ho, and Dewey Mountain are closed.

I had a volunteer shift at the luge World Cup this afternoon, but it's been cancelled because weather.

Today I’m on outage #40-41 for the year. Fortunately Santa brought an automatic generator this year. I’ve been using a 5kw portable and using a transfer panel for years but this year pushed me over the edge.

95% of the causes are dead Ash trees.
