I've never been a fan of celebrity tequilas (although George Clooney hasn't been involved with Casamigos for several years). But I was today years old when I learned about these lawsuits.

I saw that - not sure what to think. It’s a tough time for this to happen considering the entire booze industry is struggling right now. Tequila was one of the only segments that was still in growth mode up until recently.
That said, I’m glad I’m not selling any of those brands anymore but it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Agreed. Tequila has been a growth category for some time. Unfortunately, something like this casts a pall over the entire category.

Back in the day, I recall a scandal where some Austrian winemakers were caught adding a chemical to their sweet wines. You spent half of every sales call explaining what was going on and who was unaffected.

Having only recently expanded my foray into tequila, and more so mezcal, I’m not the connoisseur of those spirits that I am of bourbon. Fooled by false advertising or not, in my limited experience I do find the Casamigos products to be muy bueno. I have come to love me a Oaxacan Old Fashioned!

Reposado + Mezcal. A little smoky, a lot tasty.

I used to think Te-Kill-Ya and I had a bad relationship. Turns out not so much. My son’s favorite drink is a Paloma. I like the smoky Mezcal version of same.
