It's become very clear to me that it is going to be a tough season to ski and by extension ski blogging will also be tough.

The amount of effort required to publish this piece:

...was much more than usual. Thanks to @SayvilleSteve for well written piece, it was a surprise to see it in my inbox I was not expecting it!

Anyway I'm going to use this thread to communicate with y'all, asking for help. If you do choose to help, with picture or text I appreciate it. Ideally, if we like exclusive pictures so if you can resist posting your best shots on FB, woah you are awesome. We will definitely give photo credit to anything you submit.

I will say that emailing me pictures is great, but before you WRITE something, speak to me. Don't want anyone to waste any effort.

This weekend, I'm guessing that the story in NY is going to be the opening of Gore and Whiteface. Looks like Hunter is closed and at this time, I'm not aware of any other mountain plans to open. If you are aware please post in this thread!

I am going to try to get to Gore this weekend. If any one has plans to ski Whiteface, let me know. Ideally we'd publish twice next week.

How often have you been able to say that.....Hunter closed while Gore and Whiteface are open? Strange days, indeed. Given such strangeness, and the lengths that people may have to go to in order to ski, I think you may get some interesting stories this year....

Yeah, I get that....but the geography issue has always existed yet it doesn’t seem like it’s happened very often that Hunter isn’t spinning in December while Gore and WF are, no?
