Building a House with Wood

When the upper roof avy'd on to the lower, it shook the entire building. Like two weeks after it happened the crew was still talking about it.
We were inside Big Moose Yamaha when their roof slid. The building is basically a 50' x 100' pole barn. I thought the world was ending with the noise that made and you could feel the floor shaking as it hit the ground. The place went silent....LoL

Sidewalk suggestion, Harvey if you’re doing a concrete sidewalk maybe use “ Glow Stones “ .
When I was in Arizona last week the Lowell Observatory had some sidewalks that were accented with these. They had a Comet shaped design and a galaxy. I’m thinking about doing the edges of mine with these.

So our "temporary" bathroom (it's been 20 years) is now part of the barter economy. It will live on as a hunting camp for my builder in exchange for a no cost removal.

It's in the lower right in the photo above.

Psyched about the reuse!

We were talked out of a cement entryway.

We went with landscaped stairs using rocks from the blasting. Time will tell if it was the right choice.

I think you'll be happy to have the better drainage vs concrete pad.
Our concrete would definitely be in a place where ice could build up.

While the natural stairs are not perfectly flat, and probably dangerous for 90 yo Harv, it just seemed like the way to go.

Hence my decision!

These are easy to install and not permanent. So after Harv passes at the ripe old age of 100 his relatives won’t have to look at it. 😁
