To Brundage? The mountain road after getting off Hwy55 is only 4 miles. Doesn't come close to LCC or Powder Mountain.
Heading to Bogus on Friday starting in Boise. Expect that to be a harder drive in terms of mountain driving, with or without snow.

As far as the access road to each place, both are fine. Tamarack has no real climb on the drive (from McCall). Brundage does have a climb, but the access road is wide and not overly steep. To compare to the east coast, Gore's access road is probably steeper than Brundage.
Brundage offers Cat Skiing too!

We noticed several backcountry gates at Brundage on the Lakeview side. They are deliberate openings in the ski boundary rope line with clear signs that the area outside the gate is backcountry. The idea is that someone can ride a frontside lift up, ski backcountry, and ride the Lakeview lift up in order to get back to the parking lot.

My ski buddy is over 70. He doesn't have Indy. He got the senior discount at Brundage, which is for 65+. Saves $20 to get a ticket online in advance. But the software is fiddly when setting up a new account. He tried to buy a ticket using his phone and the Brundage WiFi while standing in front of the ticket desk . . . and gave up. He has more money than patience.
Using the Indy Pass with the card was simple. I handed over the card, and got an RFID card all ready to go. No charge for a plastic RFID card that is re-loadable. Turned out the first person I dealt with was from North Carolina. He and his girlfriend are young adults having a good time working seasonally out west, started with a few years in Montana and this winter at Brundage.
Bogus Basin is also 70+ for senior rates. Tamarack is 65+.
