Brodie Mountain

I remember they had GREAT french fries and the trails were full of jumps hidden throughout the mountain. Place had a lot of character and I much preferred it to Jiminy right up the road.

Brodie was THE place to ski in the Berkshires back in the day, the atmosphere was unmatched. When Brian bought it he gave a decent offer to the community, but when that failed Brodie was lost forever.
Just like planting grass in the spring. Wrong again

No sissy pond skimming here. Just straight up meat hucking into the frigid water.

That is badass. I like the Brodie lodge, at least from the outside -- I assume it's been demolished?
Here's what a caption says in Jeremy Davis' book, The Lost Ski Areas of the Berkshires, published 2018, says about the lodge. JP had sold the land by then and had leased some of it back in order to continue running the snow tubing park. That existed 2002-07.

"In 2005, skiing had been absent from Brodie, but the lifts were all intact, including Andy's Chair, shown here. The base lodge was standing but mostly unused." Page 165.

If they sold 3000 passes he'd put a HSQ in.
Fairbanks also had started to invest in snowmaking. You can still see where a snowmaking pond was being dug. Fairbanks said all along he wasn’t going to use Jiminy’s money to support Brodie. I can see where people are mad at Fairbanks but I can see his side and they made a go at it and the people didn’t buy season passes
