Black Mtn in NH Closing?

We were hiking in and around Mt Washington summer 2021 and we stopped to visit Black Mtn. There was nothing going on at the area.

Bromley has had the money to constantly update its snowmaking and its lifts. Black was still trying to operate with ancient Mueller lifts and weak snowmaking.
Yeah, I was only referring to your question of the survival of a south facing ski area. Really it could the difference between a mountain that’s pulling from NYC as opposed to Boston. Their verticals are similar. The driving distance from NYC to Bromley is about 4 hours. From Boston to Black about 3 hours. Ultimately, though, as always, it boils down to management … and PBR.

On top of that knoll ^^, is that what it looks like -- a private McMansion just outside the ski area boundary?
It looks like they are townhouses.

The townhouses in the Zillow link look awfully similar to what's at the Jackson NH golf / nordic ski resort. They're duplexes.

Bromley skis bigger than its 1300 vert would suggest and Black skis smaller than its 1100 vert would suggest. Regardless, how many other south facing areas are there? Hard to make a southern exposure area work in general, but especially when you have poor snowmaking and infrastructure.

Quechee Lakes is the only other south facer I can think of.
