Anyone a grateful dead fanatic here sweet Facebook page

I like the dead, but I never saw them.

I sense your not looking for "had our daughter" or "got married" so I'll give you what come to mind outside of that.

My first ever blog post is about a two night overnight I did in the Siamese Pond Wilderness. I was well-prepared gear-wise and probably ok mentally too. Except my heart was pretty much pounding the whole time. The original plan was to go with a partner, but he bagged me right at the end. There was a huge storm coming in, and the decision to go for it solo was very last minute.

Another great life experience was a few years before that. I put a great deal of effort in the logistics of spending 17 days in the wilderness without coming out. It was the Pharoah Lake Wilderness. All we did was hike and camp and bushwack to peaks with views and fish. I actually learned how to troll about half way through the trip and caught a bunch of fish after that. The only time I ever kept what I caught. Great adventure. Was in unbelievable shape by the end. Hiking for the legs, paddling for the arms.

Hiked the southern Appalachian Trail for a couple months for a good life experience.
Spent 5 years in Oxford after that that added a lower elevation southern life experience.

Dude left Jackson Hole and went to Oxford Miss & opened up a theater/cafe in a old cotton gin.
Used to go there to get a bite to eat and see who was out and about. Fun times. Hotty Toddy!

Outside of meeting my wife and becoming a grandfather , my fondest experience was watching my son become a Three Sport All East pick in College and being named Team MVP in track while he earned a 4.0 GPA for his Pharmacy education at University of Buffalo .

Frankly that topped my own experience when by the grace of god i was unanimously selected by a Board Search Committee to serve as President of the college when in fact i was not even an official candidate.

I had the pleasure of helping coach on 2 youth football teams. One of which won 2 championships in a row. I have the the beer glass to prove it! ? it really is something when you see all the effort come to fruition. The learning of the game and giving back to the community was also very rewarding.
