Why would they have the water line pressurized if it was in the 40's? It looked colder than that.Pretty sure that was when temps were in the 40s, before the recent cold snap started.
I got damn near hypothermic on top of Santanoni over July 4th weekend onceYou can get hypothermia at 55 degrees I think.

I'm confused. What was the date? Friday, Jan. 7? I live in NC. Everyone was watching the weather and hoping the cold front would come through for snowmaking to restart. It was 7F folks.

I was one of the first people on the Red Chair at Magic when they reopened it. Lift failure was definitely on my mind. It was super cold as it was first thing in the morning and the sun hadn’t broke over the mountain yet. I had just enough clothes on to make it bareable. If it had stopped for more than 10 minutes though I probably would have been in trouble. I usually have an extra puffy in my bag but I had left it behind in my haste. I went back for it just in case. I have a small down quilt that weighs next to nothing and packs down real small that will be part of my kit now on those cold days. The chair ran problem free for the two days we were there. We kept Peanut on the Green Chair only though just in case. Being stuck up there as an adult is one thing, for a child it’s something entirely different. Long slow doubles are for cuddling loved ones. Long live Magic Mountain! It's amazing to me that no one died.
I remember my last brutal lift ride at Gore. I basically quit for the day because I thought a lift failure at the wrong time (in the Saddle) could kill me. I'm not talking about being continuously doused in water either.
I cannot believe they ran the lift, sending people through that geyser. Somebody's head needs to be put in a guillotine for that.
