Angel Fire NM March 2022

Thanks for the TR. Never been to Angel Fire, have been to Santa Fe, Pajarito, and Taos. Recently visited my son in CO. I decided to hit Ski Cooper as it was free with my Greek pass. Had an excellent morning there. About a foot of fresh, not a flake in Leadville. They loaded 3 days on my RFID, I offered it to my son as it would probably still work next season. He's jaded, he scoffed at the idea. I don't know, my kind of place, even has $59 cat runs mid season, $59 for two runs.

I just noticed the part underlined above rather than the longest/fastest lift in the world, which it certainly isn't. Who knows, maybe it is the longest HSQ although I suspect that it's only referring to North America.
Well, back to why it wasn't open. They just didn't have the skilled manpower to safely run a detachable, which, I just read, takes a lot more people. Then there's the fact it moves over protected wilderness for over half the ride. And they make you salivate what could have been down there.

Theres a difference here in the lifts listed. AngelFires long chair actually services ski runs as a pod. The others are connector lifts without laple-able ski runs.

This site says Zugspitze Gondola in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany:

Whistler 2nd
Sugarbush 3rd

Doesn't even list Angel Fire.
No doubt there are longer Gondolas. The site I referenced mentioned the Sugarbush Chair as the only detachable that is longer than The Chile Express at Angel Fire. (Now if Sugarbush is not actually running it, then I guess Angel Fire's little lift is the longest operating detachable quad in the world.)

I’ve rode (ridden?) the Helbronner a few times. I always thought that was the longest gondola at just over 5km.
