Yes. Does temporary mean for the winter, or for 3 years? There's no information about what improvements are needed. Article in the ADK Daily Enterprise was much the same. The lodge could get a bit crowded, but hey.... that's life.
 
Am I wrong in assuming that purchasing the property was a pretty expensive mistake for a non-profit? Or is it a strategy to get funding?

Charity Navigator gives the ADK Club its highest rating for accountability and finances. I looked at ADK's most recent IRS form 990 and didn't see anything amiss that a lay person would notice. Presumably, a bank wouldn't have lent them $$ for the purchase if they thought it was unwise.

At one point, it appeared that the club would receive a $500,000 grant from NYS Environmental Protection Fund. However, that appears stalled as the state began adding conditions that ADK found unpalatable:
