2023-2024 Season Pass Roundup

Thanks for sending. Is K owned by the Ikon folks, or instead some tie up deal?
K'ton is owned by Powdr, not Alterra.

The multi-resort companies that partner with Alterra for Ikon are Powdr and Boyne Resorts. Also Sun Valley and Snowbasin starting 2022-23, although those two resorts operate fairly independently even though they have the same family ownership. Other Ikon Partners include well known independent destination resorts such as Alta, Jackson Hole, and Taos, which are also on the Mountain Collective Pass. There was more overlap between Ikon and the MCP destinations when Ikon first started. Now there are a few resorts only on the MCP, in particular Grand Targhee.

Green Mountain National is the much nicer course in that area.
May be, but the Killington Course appears to be linked to The Beast 365 pass.

Is GMN linked to a ski+golf season pass?

The Vt. Digger dug up some stuff on passes and lift tickets for Vermont.

"Cheaper season passes are also attractive for tourists, raising the question of whether locals are even buying Epic or Ikon passes, or whether they are mainly used by visitors traveling from outside of Vermont. According to an estimation by Ski Vermont, the latter make up 80% of skier visits across the state.
“My guess is that the number (of tourists) has increased due to the new multi-mountain season pass options,” Mahar said.
According to Brown, the ski columnist, that has led to many locals looking to ski elsewhere.
“I am seeing more Vermonters shifting out of the Epic pass because they don’t want to deal with the crowds,” he said."

"Nobody goes there anymore cause it’s too crowded". -Yogi Berra.
Yogi must’ve been a local.

When I spring for a season pass at the VIC, I will have spent $305.00 total for 3 season passes.

Get a double down ski pass at Mt Rose in the Tahoe.
Ski the rest of this year and next for 1 price.
Might be the earliest I’ve seen a double down offered.
Did one for Song/Lab when I got back into the season pass thingy🍺after I cut back my winter finger lakes fishing expeditions. The fish eat in the winter. Don’t need a cooler. Little boat traffic. Fish taste good.
Seeing how my 1st day was this last Tuesday and I usually wait for WROD to be over might make sense again.

My local ski club just announced a trip to deer valley and they are recommending purchasing ikon base plus pass as likely being cheaper than a 5 day pass. Great deal if you regularly ski ikon mountains but for many others it makes the cost unattractive.

Before Ikon existed, I wonder how many ski clubs set up trips to Deer Valley. The season pass for DV for unlimited access is over $3000 these days, even the Midweek pass is $1620. It's the only Alterra resort that limits the number of days even for Full Ikon.

The flip side is that for people who plan their own trips based on lodging in SLC and have other reasons to have Full Ikon, a day or two at DV is a reasonable option. Having Ikon is the only reason I've skied DV a few times in recent years. Full Ikon covers Alta/Snowbird (combo), Solitude (unlimited), Brighton, DV, and Snowbasin so straightforward to do two 1-week ski trips and not have to pay for any lift tickets.
