Figured I'd start a separate thread for discussion of next year's season passes.

I'll start with Killington, who just released next year's pass. https://www.killington.com/plan-your-trip/tickets-passes/season-passes

They have 3 main tiers. The top tier is the Beast 365 Pass. It includes an Ikon Base Pass, enhanced access to summer activities, and the best perks and discounts in the winter. It can be paid in full, or billed monthly at no additional cost.

Below that is the Unlimited pass, which has unlimited, unrestricted access to Killington and Pico, but no Ikon Base Pass, and summer access is limited to gondola rides only. The perks and discounts aren't quite as good either. It can be paid in full or billed in 3 payments, but for an additional fee.

Then there's the midweek pass which is only valid on non-holiday weekdays, but otherwise has the same perks as the Unlimited pass.

Additionally, they have the College Pass and Vermont Student Pass, which are basically the same as the Unlimited Pass, but are deeply discounted and only available to a very select few.

There are three premium add-ons. One of them is the preferred parking pass, which gives access to Bay 1 in the K1 Lot. New for next year there is a season long Fast Tracks add-on and a Fast Tracks 4 pack.

There was a price increase of around 60 dollars for all passes, which in my opinion makes the Beast 365 Pass an better value than it was before, because of how Ikon's prices went up a lot more than that.

There is one change that I'm highly disappointed in, and it's that they nuked the bring a friend discount. This year you get 12 50% off vouchers with the Beast 365 Pass, and 12 25% off vouchers with the other passes. Now you only get 10 with the Beast 365, and 5 with the other passes, and the percentage discount is unspecified. I take that as meaning it will be 0 or close to it much of the time. I liked this perk as a way to introduce people to Killington without them totally breaking the bank.

I believe they will lose business for this, not from people not renewing their passes, but from those who passholders might've encouraged to come, and who will now go elsewhere or not ski at all.

Did the K'ton pass holder have to be present to use Bring A Friend? If so, was that happening mostly on weekends or during holiday periods? I'm assuming there were no black out dates for Bring A Friend.

Does the top tier pass included green fees at the golf course?
Yes

There were no blackouts, and because they require online purchase of tickets, there was no need for the passholder to be present.

Green Mountain National is the much nicer course in that area.

Another shortcoming with Killington's passes is that the Unlimited Pass does not provide any reciprocal benefits at other Powdr resorts. The only way to get it is to upgrade to the Beast 365 for the included Ikon Base Pass.

This has angered some passholders to the point where they refuse to visit any Powdr resort when they go out west.

Boyne's New England Pass has reciprocal benefits at their western resorts, so this is not something that's restricted by being an Ikon partner.

2023-2024 Bristol Mountain season pass is now $895. You get nothing but skiing plus a one time use discount in the ski tuning center and demo center plus some modest one-time discounts at Mountains of Distinction. This is 7% increase over last season and 16% over the last 4.

The pre-purchased 12 ticket pass I've been buying will be $725 or a 9% increase over last season or 36% over the last 4 seasons.

I suspect a day pass purchased "day of" on the weekend will be about $100. Crazy stuff for what I call limited terrain, but it's only 35-50 min drive for most people in the Rochester metro.
But it's getting harder and harder to justify that kind of money for 140acres of skiing.

I'm probably not many seasons away from only purchasing a 6 ticket prepaid for my wife and I to use as an early season warm up. Instead we will focus on skiing elsewhere with bigger and more interesting terrain.

Thanks for sending. Is K owned by the Ikon folks, or instead some tie up deal?

I suspect a day pass purchased "day of" on the weekend will be about $100.
Supply and demand . . . a weekend day ticket at my home hill in northern VA is $90, $61 Mon-Fri. That's for just under 100 acres, 90% groomed even if the three short trails that aren't usually groomed are open. A full season pass (mid-Dec to early March) is $476 at the lowest price, with a value option at $324 that's only blacked out during the regular season on holidays and Saturdays 9am-4pm.

Now that I qualify for Massanutten senior rates and can get 2 days covered by the Indy Pass, for the limited number of days I ski there, I don't bother with a season pass anymore. Between Indy, Ikon, and the MCP that will cover most of the places I plan to ski at during 2023-24.
