Great day today. Highline was the run of the day. One big problem was that Superstar was closed—a groomer broke down on the trail. They did manage to fix the groomer and open the quad at 1:35, but ovation and superstar remained closed, although there was a lot of rope ducking.

If you are still here, Sunday, it is a full on powder day. Probably a heavy 5 inches so far and dumping. And, no crowds!!!

Skied on Friday and it was awesome. Bad news is that Stowe is gonna be hurting unless they get a lucky storm. Friday was probably last call for natural snow trails and woods. There is still snow in the woods in the upper portion of the mountain, but it is disappearing, and with the thaw freeze...

Amazing day today. It was pretty warm which led to spring skiing—but with an almost completely open mountain. Bumps were soft and the sun made a few appearances. It has snowed on and off, but with the temps dropping tomorrow is going to be brutal.

Well, not since my high school club trip to Smuggs 30 years ago, memory is pretty hazy. One of my good buds did pick up a concussion slamming into a tree on that trip, and I have always associated smuggs=hardcore since then.

I had conversation on this very topic on a lift ride at Stowe with some long time northern Vermonters. They were adamant that Madonna lift line at Smuggs was the winner, over goat, paradise(Mrg), and rumble. personally, I think it depends on the day you are skiing.
